Vintage Charts are a really useful way to find great wine and avoid disappointing ones. We find a very strong correlation to good growing years to great wines and vice-versa. Growing seasons have a huge effect on the ripeness and quality of grapes. All things from sugar levels, concentrate of flavor to presence of mildew and pests can be effected. Because all grapes ripen and are therefore picked at different stages of a growing season they can sometimes be good in a region for one variety and poor for another. Just like most things in wine there is a level of subjectivity and we thought it was valuable to average three of the most commonly used vintage guides in Australia for your convenience.
